Let your AI agent download any video

SaveDock runs a public MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Connect it to Claude, Cursor, Kiro, or any MCP-compatible agent — then just say "download this video" and the agent handles the rest.

No signup No API key needed 10 free downloads / hour YouTube, Instagram, TikTok & more

Connect your agent in 30 seconds

Pick your client and paste the snippet. The agent will discover all four tools automatically.

Add this to your claude_desktop_config.json then restart Claude:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "savedock": {
      "url": "https://mcp.savedock.pro/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Copy this prompt to your agent

Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, or any AI chat. After that, just share any video link and your agent will automatically download it and send you the file — no extra setup needed.

I want you to use the SaveDock MCP server (https://mcp.savedock.pro/mcp) to help me download videos.

When I share a video link, just download it and give me the download link. No signup or API key needed — it's free.

Supports YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and more.

How it works

  1. 1

    Agent calls download_video(url)

    Your agent passes the video URL. The MCP server forwards it to the SaveDock API.

  2. 2

    SaveDock downloads and processes the video

    yt-dlp fetches the video, ffmpeg merges audio and video if needed, and the file is saved temporarily.

  3. 3

    Agent returns a direct download link

    The tool returns a temporary download_url the user can open in their browser. The file is never put into the conversation.

FAQ

Do I need an account or API key?
No. The MCP server is free to use without any signup. The free tier allows 10 downloads per hour per IP address.
Which AI clients support MCP?
Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Kiro IDE, and any client that implements the Model Context Protocol over Streamable HTTP.
What happens if I hit the rate limit?
The tool returns an error with a retry_after value telling the agent when it can try again. Your agent will communicate this to you.
Is the download link permanent?
No. Files are deleted automatically after 6 hours and the link expires too. Save the file before then.
Can my agent choose video quality?
Yes. Call get_video_info(url) first to see available qualities, then pass the quality value to download_video().
What sites are supported?
YouTube (videos, Shorts, playlists), Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, X (Twitter), Pinterest and more — the same as the website.
